New Holiday Single Out Today: “My Favorite Things”
Just in time for the holiday season, I’m excited to share a brand-new single with you all! To wrap up this year of celebrating J.J. Johnson’s incredible legacy, I wanted to revisit one of his iconic interpretations: “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music.
This arrangement, originally featured on J.J.’s album JJ’s Broadway, showcases his brilliant ability to blend the worlds of jazz and Broadway. I had an absolute blast recording this tune with an amazing trio: Liya Grigoryan on piano, Raul Reyes on bass, and Gary Kerkezou on drums.
